The Love Connection.

Let’s talk about love.
But before you allow your mind to wander down a path that this message never intended to lead you, you should know that this not about dating or marriage. Even though this is not about husbands and wives, it is about the Bridegroom (Jesus) and His Bride (us, the Church). It is about His passionate pursuit to have an intimate relationship with each of us. It is through this incomparable love story that God has revealed His boundless heart for all people. So, let’s talk about love, His Love.
Do you remember when you fell in love for the very first time? Do you remember when God’s love first found you? I do. It was His love that changed my life for all of eternity. And it doesn’t even stop there! Since the Father is not restricted by anything, His love is unlimited! Even though we were once separated from the Father because of our sin, He always had a plan to restore us back into relationship with Him. That plan was Jesus. It was Jesus who connected us back to the incomprehensible love of the Father.
Maybe you have never experienced the Father’s love for you. I pray that even as you read this, no matter where you are or who you are, you’d experience the manifest presence of the Father’s overwhelming love for you as His son or daughter. May His love flow deep into your spirit in a way that causes you to fall radically in love with the God who has always loved you.
“What’s wrong with you?! Are you in love or something?” That’s the question that my boss at work asked me not that long ago. Apparently she noticed something different about me and assumed that I was in love! If I had the opportunity to answer her, I would have said “Yes, I am in love!”. Each day, I’m falling more and more in love with the Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit. In fact, it is a love that is so amazing that it has literally consumed every part of my life. Jesus said that the most important thing is to love the Lord our God with all that we are (Mark 12:29-30). Something beautiful happens when we live out that command each day. It changes what we see, what we hear and what we do. That’s what happens when we are truly in love.
Just as Jesus made a way for us to be connected to the Father and His love, Holy Spirit who is dwelling in and among those who believe, enables us to actually live and love like Jesus, making a way to connect the people around us to the Father’s love. It is the Father’s love that connects all believers together and compels us to be that love connection where ever we are. We have been called to be both connected to the source of love (God), but also to be a connector of that love (Mark 12:31). A love that does not discriminate, seeing no color, caste, financial or educational status, it’s a love that crosses all barriers and boundaries regardless of the cost. If you love Jesus, consider yourself commissioned to be a part of that love connection. What would your day look like if you loved like Jesus?

“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus.” 1 John 4:16-17
